Wine Cellar Glow — Custom Glass Mosaic for Astor Liquors NYC
For this custom commercial installation at Astor Liquors in Greenwich Village, New York City, Allison Eden Studios created a rich glass mosaic border in a sophisticated palette of amber, chocolate, bronze, and gold tones.
The classic mosaic pattern was completely customized to complement the warmth of the wine room and surrounding wood finishes, creating a luminous architectural detail that wraps the upper perimeter of the space. Installed above the wine displays and illuminated from below, the mosaic catches and reflects light, producing a warm golden glow throughout the interior.
Handcrafted by the skilled glass artists at Allison Eden Studios in Brooklyn, New York, the installation demonstrates how a traditional mosaic pattern can be transformed through expert color selection, material variation, and craftsmanship. Individually selected pieces of stained glass create subtle shifts in tone and reflection, giving the surface depth, richness, and movement that cannot be replicated with machine made tile.

The custom colorway was developed specifically for the project, balancing deep chocolate and bronze shades with luminous amber and gold glass to create a palette reminiscent of aged wine, cognac, oak barrels, and warm cellar lighting.
For restaurants, wine bars, hospitality spaces, retail environments, and specialty stores, custom glass mosaic tile can become an integral part of the interior architecture — adding color, texture, reflectivity, and a distinctive sense of place.
Allison Eden Studios designs and fabricates bespoke commercial glass mosaics in Brooklyn, with patterns, colors, scale, and materials tailored to each project.
