Butterfly Flight — A Bespoke Stained Glass Mosaic Bathroom Mural
Custom Butterfly Stained Glass Mosaic Bathroom Mural
A bathroom can be more than a private retreat. In the hands of Allison Eden Studios, it can become an immersive work of art.
For this custom residential installation, Allison Eden created a luminous stained glass mosaic butterfly mural that wraps the vanity wall in color, movement, and light. Jewel-toned butterflies appear to drift through the room against an intricately handcrafted ombré field that transitions from deep emerald greens to soft aquas, pale blues, and shimmering whites.
The composition was designed to feel alive rather than decorative. Each butterfly has its own personality, scale, and color story, creating the impression of a fleeting moment in nature captured in glass. The shifting background adds atmosphere and dimension, allowing the eye to move naturally from the rich garden tones below to the airy sky-inspired palette above.
Handcrafted in Allison Eden Studios’ Brooklyn atelier, the mural combines artistry with architectural precision. Individual pieces of stained glass are selected for their color, translucency, texture, and reflective quality, then assembled by skilled artisans into a completely original installation tailored to the room.
Rather than relying on a conventional repeating tile pattern, Allison Eden approaches residential mosaics as site-specific works of functional art. The architecture of the space, placement of mirrors and fixtures, available light, and the client’s personal aesthetic all become part of the composition.
For homeowners undertaking a luxury bathroom renovation, a custom glass mosaic mural offers an opportunity to turn an everyday surface into a permanent artwork. For interior designers and architects, it provides a distinctive focal point that can be customized in virtually any color palette, scale, or artistic direction.
From botanical murals and aquatic scenes to abstract compositions and highly personal imagery, Allison Eden Studios creates bespoke mosaics that blur the line between fine art, craft, and interior design.
No two Allison Eden Studios installations are ever the same. Each is conceived for the client, handcrafted in Brooklyn, and created to become an enduring part of the architecture it inhabits.
