Tropical Garden — Custom Floral Glass Mosaic Kitchen Backsplash

Allison Eden Studios designs and handcrafts custom stained glass mosaic kitchen backsplashes for residential interiors, with each mural created specifically for the client and space.

A kitchen backsplash can be far more than a practical surface—it can become the artwork that defines the entire room. For this residential kitchen, Allison Eden Studios created a one-of-a-kind custom floral mosaic backsplash handcrafted from stained glass in our Brooklyn studio.

The lush composition transforms the cooking area into a vibrant tropical garden, with oversized hibiscus flowers, sweeping palm leaves, delicate ferns, layered foliage, and colorful blossoms flowing organically across the wall. Rich greens, turquoise blues, brilliant reds, yellows, creams, and jewel tones create depth and movement while allowing the natural luminosity of stained glass to bring the mural to life.

Rather than using a conventional repeating tile pattern, Allison Eden approaches each backsplash as an original work of functional art designed specifically for the architecture, color palette, and personality of the home. Individual pieces of glass are selected and handcrafted by skilled artisans to create variations in color, texture, reflection, and transparency that cannot be replicated by mass-produced tile.

For homeowners remodeling a kitchen, a custom mosaic backsplash provides an opportunity to introduce artwork directly into the architecture of the home. It can become a dramatic focal point behind a range, extend across an entire kitchen wall, or coordinate with cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and furnishings.

Interior designers and architects can also collaborate with Allison Eden Studios to develop completely custom mosaic murals in virtually any palette, scale, or artistic direction—from tropical botanicals and florals to abstract compositions, landscapes, geometric designs, and contemporary patterns.

Every Allison Eden Studios custom glass mosaic is individually designed and handcrafted, ensuring that no two installations are ever exactly alike. This tropical floral backsplash celebrates color, nature, craftsmanship, and the idea that even the most functional areas of a home can become extraordinary works of art.
