Color Without Apology: A Custom Glass Mosaic Kitchen for the Rachael Ray Showhouse
Boston, MA
Who says a luxury kitchen has to be neutral?
Created for the Rachael Ray Showhouse, this exuberant custom glass mosaic backsplash by Allison Eden Studios celebrates color, craftsmanship and individuality. Saturated jewel tones, citrus brights, rich reds, pinks and shimmering metallic accents are layered across the kitchen in long, hand-cut strips of stained glass, transforming a familiar backsplash into an original work of art.
Every piece of glass was individually cut and composed by the artisans at Allison Eden Studios’ Brooklyn studio. Rather than relying on a conventional repeating tile pattern, the composition moves organically across the walls, creating rhythm, energy and visual movement throughout the kitchen.
Against the dark wood cabinetry and black countertops, the luminous stained glass becomes the defining architectural feature of the room. Light catches different pieces throughout the day, allowing the backsplash to continually shift, sparkle and reveal new combinations of color.
Where Fine Art Meets Kitchen Design
For homeowners renovating a luxury home, a custom mosaic backsplash offers something mass-produced tile cannot: the opportunity to create a surface specifically for the room and the people who live there.
Allison Eden Studios approaches glass mosaic much like a painter approaches a canvas—using color, proportion, texture and movement to create a composition rather than simply covering a wall.
The result here is funky, fresh and unapologetically bold. Yet beneath the playful personality is meticulous craftsmanship and decades of experience working with stained glass and mosaic.
Whether created for a nationally featured showhouse or a private residence, an Allison Eden Studios custom glass mosaic can transform a kitchen backsplash into the centerpiece of a luxury home.
Handcrafted in Brooklyn, New York, Allison Eden Studios creates bespoke glass and mirror mosaics for kitchens, bathrooms, bars, feature walls and residential interiors throughout the United States.
